Addressing paid family leave (Fain, Hobbs, Braun)

Provides family leave benefits to certain employees and those employees continue to be eligible for the benefits during employment with a covered employer. Requires the employment security department to administer family leave provisions.

One of 3 bills re funding and expanding paid family leave. Funded entirely by employees via payroll tax, would provide up to 12 weeks of paid leave for care of newborn/adopted child/family member's or employee's serious health condition/military leave. Would be phased in over 3 years, with final benefit not exceeding 67 percent of a employees wage or 67 percent of state's average wage [weekly cap of $725]. Employees eligible at 26 weeks (6 months).
