Concerning donations to the prescription drug donation program (Irwin, Koster, Volz)
Allows the donation of prescription drugs if, as determined by the professional judgment of a pharmacist, the prescription drugs: (1) Equipped with a time temperature indicator at the point of manufacture were stored under required temperature conditions; and (2) Were properly stored and the person donating the drugs has completed and signed a donor form, adopted by the department of health, to release the drugs for distribution and certified that the drugs have never been opened, used, adulterated, or misbranded.
1ST SUBSTITUTE COMPARED TO ORIGINAL:
The substitute bill requires the donor form for prescription drugs not equipped with a time/temperature indicator at the point of manufacture include an attestation that the drugs have been stored in a manner that adheres to the conditions established by the manufacturer.
