Concerning medicaid fraud control unit (Goodman, Klippert, Kilduff)
AN ACT Relating to the medicaid fraud control unit; and adding a new chapter to Title 74 RCW. The legislature intends with this chapter to enable the medicaid fraud control unit within the office of the attorney general to achieve its limited but vital mission to detect, deter, and prosecute the specialized areas of medicaid fraud, abuse, and neglect in Washington's medicaid system.
EFFECT OF 1ST SUBSTITUTE ON ORIGINAL BILL:
The substitute strikes the provision stating that the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit is an appropriate law enforcement agency for the purposes of mandatory reporting under the law governing abuse and neglect of vulnerable adults.
