Supporting sexual assault survivors (Orwall)
Adds language to current sections regarding duties to the joint legislative task force on sexual assault forensic examination best practices and a later expiration date. Adds new sections about law enforcement and sexual assault kits, the rights of sexual assault survivors, summit hosting by the office of the attorney general, and live adult entertainment.
SUMMARY OF 1ST SUBSTITUTE COMPARED TO ORIGINAL BILL
(1) The $4 fee collected from patrons of sexually oriented live adult entertainment establishments is removed from the underlying bill. (2) The WSP is authorized to adopt rules to implement the system. (3) A remedy is created for violations of the survivors' rights enumerated in the bill. A survivor who is denied a right enumerated in the bill may seek a court order directing compliance by the relevant party or parties.
