Concerning a database of pharmacies offering vaccines and self-administered hormonal contraceptives through collaborative drug therapy agreements (Stambaugh, Robinson, Jinkins)

Requires the department of health to establish a searchable database of pharmacies that have one or more pharmacists on staff with collaborative drug therapy agreements to prescribe vaccines or self-administered hormonal contraceptives.

Requires a pharmacy, with one or more pharmacists on staff that prescribe vaccines or self-administered hormonal contraceptives through a collaborative drug therapy agreement, to electronically provide the department of health with certain information requested by, and in a format identified by, the department.

EFFECT OF HOUSE STRIKER AMENDMENT
(1) Allows the department of health (department) to forgo establishing or operating the database if it determines that a statewide association of pharmacists or pharmacies is providing a substantially similar publicly available database. (2) Changes the date the database must be established to move it back one year, so that the department is not required to establish the database until July 1, 2020, and pharmacies are not required to provide data to the department regarding the database until April 1, 2020. (3) Requires the department to establish the database in consultation with pharmacists and pharmacies. (4) Removes the requirement that pharmacies provide information on pharmacists it employs that have collaborative drug therapy agreements to prescribe vaccines or hormonal contraceptives if the Department of Health determines a substantially similar database is in operation and the Department forgoes establishing or operating its on database. (5) Removes the requirement that pharmacies submit the information electronically.
