Concerning long-term care services and supports (Palumbo, Bailey, Cleveland)
Places responsibility for the implementation and administration of the family and medical leave program with the state health care authority, the department of social and health services, and the employment security department. Creates the long-term services and supports trust commission and requires the commission to, beginning January 1, 2019, establish certain rules and policies. States that, beginning January 1, 2025, long-term services and supports are available and benefits are payable to a registered long-term services and supports provider on behalf of a qualified individual. Requires the benefits to be paid periodically and
promptly to registered long-term services and supports providers. Allows any self-employed person, beginning January 1, 2023, to elect coverage under the program. Creates the long-term services and supports trust account.
